Né en 1977, Frédéric Dussoulier a été formé chez les Compagnons de France, dans la section vitrail.

Après son expérience montpelliéraine dans le collectif de plasticiens « La grande Barge », et de multiples projets dans le domaine de la 
scénographie, il s'installe à la Réunion en 2012. Il y obtient le troisième prix du Conseil Général sur le thème de l’embellissement urbain 
2013.

Il présente en octobre 2014 sa première exposition d'envergure « TENSIONS » à la villa de la Région à Saint Denis de la Réunion.
De mars 2016 à décembre 2018, il est en résidence à la Friche du Port, lieu consacré à la création artistique crée par la ville du Port. Il y 
réalisera « Ensemble », sculpture commandée par la Région pour le giratoire de Canabady, Saint Pierre, mais aussi une installation autour 
des organes humains intitulée « Hommage », "En Marche" pour la Région Réunion, ainsi que la sculpture “Une idée d'Avenir” pour la ville 
de Saint Pierre en juillet 2018.

Il expose en mai 2019 au D2 en compagnie du peintre Eric Raban pour l'exposition “LOCUS” et explore de nouveaux horizons en travaillant 
notamment sur le miniature mais aussi sur de nouveaux matériaux, comme le cobalt chrome.

En octobre 2020, il devient lauréat de l'appel à projet du FRAC REUNION pour la réalisation d'une œuvre en lien avec le lavoir de 
l'institution. « H2O » a été installée en janvier 2021.

Il livre la sculpture monumentale " Une Main Tendue " en inox pour les 55 ans du RSMA REUNION en juin 2021.
Il conçoit et réalise la scénographie du spectacle “SOUFFLE” de la compagnie conventionnée de danse contemporaine MORPHOSE en 
février 2022. Fait de voiles et d'interprétation de colonnes antiques, cette scénographie apréhende le thème de l'antre.

 

Suite à sa résidence dans l'entreprise Tereos, deuxième producteur mondial de sucre, il réalise 17 portraits monumentaux, gravés dans la 
matière, qui seront ensuite exposé dans la galerie “ La Tour de Guets” dans le Gard durant le mois de mai 2022.

En 2022, il devient lauréat de l'appel à résidence artistique du Conseil Départemental de la Réunion pour le Jardin Botanique des 
Mascarins. Il y crée son installation REFLEXION, autour du lien entre l'Homme et la Nature à travers une série de sculptures en poli miroir.

Avec le projet BIG FOOT, il prend une direction internationale, en proposant des sculptures monumentales autour du thème de la 
migration et des flux humains. Le premier volet s'est réalisé en Afrique du Sud dans le centre artistique FATC. Le 1er BIG FOOT a ainsi été 
inauguré en mars 2023.

 

Enfin, il inaugure en septembre 2023 son installation FONDRE AU SOLEIL, acquisition de la ville de Roquebrune Cap Martin en présence du Prince Albert de Monaco.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Born in 1977, Frédéric Dussoulier was trained by the Compagnons de France in the stained glass section.

After his experience in Montpellier in the visual artist collective «La grande Barge», and multiple projects in the field of 
scenography, he moved to Reunion in 2012. He won the third prize of the General Council on the theme of urban beautification 
2013.

In October 2014, he presented his first major exhibition «TENSIONS» at the villa de la Région in Saint Denis de la Réunion.
From March 2016 to December 2018, he is in residence at the Friche du Port, a place dedicated to artistic creation created by the city of the Port. There 
will realize «Ensemble», sculpture commissioned by the Region for the Canabady roundabout, Saint Pierre, but also an installation around 
human organs entitled «Hommage», "En Marche" for the Réunion Region, as well as the sculpture «Une idée d'Avenir» for the city 
of Saint Pierre in July 2018.

He exhibits in May 2019 at D2 with the painter Eric Raban for the exhibition “LOCUS” and explores new horizons by working 
especially on the miniature but also on new materials, such as cobalt chrome.

In October 2020, he became the winner of the FRAC REUNION call for projects for the realization of a work related to the laundry of 
institution. “H2O” was installed in January 2021.

He delivers the monumental sculpture "Une Main Tendue" in stainless steel for the 55 years of RSMA REUNION in June 2021.
He co-creates and realizes the scenography of the show «SOUFFLE» of the contemporary dance company MORPHOSE in 
February 2022. Made of veils and interpretation of ancient columns, this scenography follows the theme of the lair.

Following his residency in the company Tereos, the world’s second largest sugar producer, he produced 17 monumental portraits, engraved in the 
material, which will then be exhibited in the gallery “La Tour de Guets” in the Gard during the month of May 2022.

 

In 2022, he became the winner of the call for artistic residency of the Conseil Départemental de la Réunion for the Jardin Botanique des 
Mascarins. He creates his installation REFLEXION, around the link between Man and Nature through a series of mirror polished sculptures.

With the BIG FOOT project, it takes an international direction, proposing monumental sculptures around the theme of the 
migration and human flows. The first part took place in South Africa in the FATC artistic center. The 1st BIG FOOT was 
inaugurated in March 2023.

 

Finally, in September 2023, he inaugurated his FONDRE AU SOLEIL installation, acquired from the town of Roquebrune Cap Martin in the presence of Prince Albert of Monaco.
